Wajas are wolf-like creatures that come in a number of “breeds”. These creatures range from monstrous to peculiar to simply lovely. The goal of wajas is to breed wajas to create attractive pets. You can’t interact with your waja, only instruct them to breed.
1. Breeds
There are eleven breeds of waja, which can all interbreed. Each waja has a base colour: the colour of the waja’s coat before markings are applied; and an eye colour. On fire wajas, the eye colour is also the colour of the flames on the waja’s paws.
Aerial: angelic, feathered wolves.
African: cheerful and large-eared, with plush tails.
Bane: sleek and vicious wolves with a fringe at the end of their tail.
Breedless: rare invisible wajas.
Corsies: small with short legs and a cheerful expression.
Divine: wise, winged wolves.
Earth: playful, fluffy wolves.
Egyptian: tall, slender, and elegant with a fringe on the end of the tail.
Fire: dancing wolves with flames on their feet and tails.
Normal: husky-like wolves.
Plushie: a soft cuddly toy wolf.
Tempest: flowing wind-swept wolves with curly fur.
Water: mermaid-tailed aquatic wolves.
2. Markings
Markings are “genes” that affect the appearance of your waja’s coat. There are two factors to markings: colour and percentage. The colour is a hex code that determines what colour the marking will appear as on the waja’s coat - certain colours will obviously stand out better against certain back ground colours than others. The percentage indicates how strong the colour of the marking is.
Much love to Cat for finding this website.
A high percentage indicates a strong marking, the marking will be bold and fully coloured. The lower the percentage, the more “faded” the marking will appear. Some breeders prefer paintball markings: high percentages and bright colours; others prefer more muted and/or subtle colourations.
A paintball is a waja with multiple strong coloured markings on contrasting backgrounds , while wajas with weak markings on similar-toned backgrounds are referred to as mudballs. I prefer soft greys with subtle rainbow markings, the very definition of a mudball. Some breeders will stipulate in their cave rules their minimum requirements for pairing markings. Generally, breeders look for pairings where at least 80% of the markings match.

You might see a mudball… I see a delicate interplay of subtle colour.

Some people prefer paintballs… I find them rather garish…
3. Mutations
Mutations are changes in the physical appearance of a waja. There are currently nine mutations. Mutations can be carried, breeding a pair of wajas that display a mutation can result in pups that show the mutation, carry the mutation, or do not have it at all. The mutations are:
Bat Wings: a pair of wide bat wings set on the waja’s shoulders.
Bird Wings: feathery bird wings set on the waja’s shoulders.
Butterfly Wings: aka butterwings; a pair of fairy wings set on the waja’s shoulders.
Leg Feathers: drapes of fur (or feathers in the case of aerials) on the back of the waja’s legs.
Mane: additional fur on the top of the head and down the back.
Prehistoric Horns: low-set curved horns with spikes on the hips.
Ram Horns: curved horns.
Saber Fangs: long canine fangs.
Unihorn: short horn on the forehead.
4. Generation
There are a number of waja’s that have a generation of 1. These are “original” wajas, and have no parents. Each time you breed a pair of wajas, the offspring will have a generation number equal to the highest-generation parent +1. Low generation wajas are generally considered to be highly valuable (especially if they have no markings or mutations) due to their percieved rarity, decreased accidental inbreeding, and ease of checking lineage.
5. Characteristics
While mutations and markings affect the appearance of your waja, there are a number of characteristics that affect how your waja breeds. These characteristics are MU, MG, LQ, and IN%.
MU: mutation; higher percentages pass on more mutations and have a greater chance of random mutations.
MG: male gene; increases the likelihood of having male pups.
LQ: litter quantity; quantities under 50 produce single pups.
IN%: inbreeding; the degree to which the pup’s linage is inbred.
The details page will also have information such as the breed, gender, age, and lineage of a waja.
