The answers to most questions I hear can be found somewhere in this wiki, but sometimes it's just simpler to ask the question. This is a guide to the questions I've most commonly been asked about wajas.

It's all so confusing!
That it is. There's a lot to take in at first. Start with the basic controls, then take a look at my quick start guide to get you started.
How do I get a waja?
There are some very generous players willing to give new players a waja or two to start you off. Check the quick start guide for some helpful links.
How do I get to my friend's cave?
The easiest way is if your friend provides a link to their profile. Otherwise, you will need their profile ID. If you click on your username at the top of the page, you will be taken to your username. You can change the number in the URL to your friend's ID and you'll go to their profile page.
How do I add my friend to the friend list?
On a user's profile page, next to their name will be two icons: a person with a green plus sign, and a person with a red x. Click the icon with the green plus to add that user to your friend list.
How do I remove someone from my friend list?
If you are going to transfer a waja or some credits to someone, it is generally easier to temporarily add them to your friends list so that you can select them from the drop-down list rather than copying their profile ID# into the box. Once you've finished your transaction, you can remove them by going to their profile page. The friend icon (the one with the plus sign) will be greyed out. Click the icon and they will be removed.
My friend wants my ID#. Where do I find it?
Next to your username at the top of the page there is a number in brackets. This is your profile ID. It is used to identify yourself on wajas. When linking people to your cave (or sale cave), make sure that you click your username first. The home cave link is generic, and takes players to the cave they are logged into.
How do I link someone to my cave?
There are a couple of ways: the simplest way is to give them your profile ID and have them add you as a friend, after that they can access your sale cave by going to their friends list. The second way is to follow the steps above to link them to your profile. The final way is to give them the following link: http://www.wajasdev.com/cave.php?id=xxxxx where xxxxx is your profile ID. This will bypass the profile page and go straight to the cave.
What's a love pear? Where do I get one?
A love pear is essential to breeding. If the owner of the female does not have a love pear in their inventory, the breeding will automatically fail.
When does the pear shop restock?
The shops restock at :02, :17, :32, and :47 minutes past the hour, each hour.
Yay, my waja is pregnant! When can I expect pups?
Waja pregnancy lasts for five days. The date and time are "waja time", which is shown at the top of the page under your username.
How many pups will my waja have in the litter?
That depends on the LQ of both parents (see what are wajas for an explanation of LQ). Compare the sire and dam, the litter quantity that determines the litter is the lowest value. This means if you breed a waja with 100 LQ to one with 0 LQ, the number of pups will be calculated off LQ 0.
An LQ of 50 or less means your litter will only have one pup, twins if you're lucky. An LQ of more than 50 will get you two pups per litter, or occasionally triplets. As LQ approaches 100, you will have three pups per litter, with the off chance of quadruplets. Four is the absolute maximum number of pups you can get.
My waja is 12 (or more) days old, but still looks like a puppy. When will she look like an adult?
Wajas become "full grown" at twelve days of age, when they are moved from your "young wajas" to your "adult wajas". To see the waja as an adult, click on the waja's picture and press F5.
What is does MU, MG, LQ, and IN% mean?
For an explanation of these terms, see characteristics.
How do I increase a waja's MU, MG, or LQ?
Characteristics are effected by special pears. See the section on pears for more information.
How do I make a custom waja?
Step One: Use the custom demo, the colour picker, the colour mixer, and any other tool you can think of to design your waja before you start. Tokens and dyes are expensive, best to have a clear idea of what you're doing before you begin.
Step Two: Write down the exact markings and the hex codes of the colours you want. You can "steal" hex codes for colours from other wajas that you like, or use the colour mixer to combine colours to find a tone you like. Keep checking them in the custom demo to see how they look on the waja. Different breeds will affect the tone of the colour, so make sure you have tested it. Any marking that is written in RED in the custom demo is a DYE, all the other markings are created through the custom tokens. Marking layers are written upside-down. The marking at the top of the list will be underneath the others. Switch around the layers until you're happy with the order that they go in, and make sure you record exactly what order they should appear in.
Step Three: You can have up to 4 markings/mutations (diamond token) + any number of dyes you can afford. Double check the list of markings and mutations you want your custom to have and see which ones are dyes and which aren't. Buy the cheapest token that has the number of marking/mutations you want. Once you have your token (or tokens if you plan on making a breeding pair), go to your inventory and select the token. You'll be taken to a description page, from there click the link to go to the custom creator.
Step Four: Enter all the hex codes, markings, marking strengths, and mutations of your waja to be. Double check, triple check and then hit preview. Here you can see what your waja will look like and you can make last-minute changes if need be. Make sure that you have copied the hex codes exactly. If you have copy-and-pasted them from another source, it may have appended a space to the end, which will cause the editor to not recognise the colour code, making it default to black.
Once you're happy, click create. A pop up will appear and ask if you're ready to use your token. Once you click to confirm, the waja will appear in your cave called CUSTOM.
Step Five:Custom wajas start with 0 MU, MG, and LQ; so you may want to have a stockpile of Normal Pears at hand before you create your customs. Remember it can take anywhere between 34 to 100 pears to get the LQ to 100%. If your waja has mutations, you may also want to invest in Strange Pears to increase the chance that the mutations will be passed along to the pups.
Step Six: Once you've made your custom, and fed them up with pears, breed them straight away. There seems to be a fairly solid market for "limited edition" pups: pups that won't be available once the parents are dyed.
Step Seven: Once you've had the chance to do a few breeding breedings, you're ready to apply your first dye. Simply click on the dye in your inventory and select the custom waja. Enter the hex code and the strength of the marking, and choose where in the order of markings the dye belongs. This is a lot easier than using the custom demo or creator as it will give you a list and you simply click the position between the existing markings. If you're using multiple dyes, it may pay off to also do a breeding in between each layer.
What is "retirement"?
Retirement removes a waja from the breeding pool. By retiring a waja, you remove it from your cave and it becomes unavailable for stud or reverse breeding. You can view retired wajas in your own cave by clicking the retired wajas link under "Your Cave", or the retired link next to "puppy" in another's cave. Retirement is PERMANENT. A retired waja cannot be brought out of retirement to begin breeding again.
Some people retire their wajas to make their offspring more valuable: being unable to breed any further pups makes the ones in existence limited, and therefore more expensive. Others may retire wajas that they consider to be exceptionally ugly.
How do I display images of my wajas?
That depends on which browser you are using.
Internet Explorer
Right click the image of your waja and select properties. Highlight the address (URL) and copy.
Firefox
Right click the image of your waja and select copy image location.
Google Chrome
Right click the image of your waja and select copy image URL.
It's very important that you copy the image URL, not the target, as the target of the URL refreshes the page. Once you have done this you can paste the URL into your website or forum post. For forums that use BBCode, you want to paste the URL between a pair of image tags. The waja forums use html. If you also want to provide a link to the waja, copy the URL from the address bar.
BBCode Image: [img]http://www.wajasdev.com/_images/wajas/xxxx/xxxxxxx.png[/img]
BBCode Image with Link: [url=http://www.wajasdev.com/waja.php?id=xxxxxxx][img]http://www.wajasdev.com/_images/wajas/xxxx/xxxxxxx.png[/img][/url]
HTML Image: <img src="http://www.wajasdev.com/_images/wajas/xxxx/xxxxxxx.png" alt="description">
HTML Image with Link: <a href="http://www.wajasdev.com/waja.php?id=xxxxxxx"><img src="http://www.wajasdev.com/_images/wajas/xxxx/xxxxxxx.png" alt="description"></a>
How do I display images in my cave/waja description?
At this stage, html is still broken for waja descriptions. However, you can display images/adoptables in your cave description using the html code provided for your adoptable. To insert an image, use the following html: <img src="url">.
How do I look at the pup-age wajas in someone's cave?
For some reason (I don't understand web design, but I'm sure it's a simple explanation), you cannot see the links for puppy and retired wajas.
Hover your mouse over the red arrow, and the pointer will change to a hand. Click here and you'll switch to the puppy view. On the other side of the pipe (the vertical line), is an invisible link to retired wajas.
What is/was the OWF? What does OWFing mean?
OWF stands for Obsessed Waja Fan. The OWF was an automated account that people were able to sell unwanted wajas to, referred to as "OWFing". While the account has now been deactivated, you can still browse the cave here.
Do you have answers for Word Wizard?
I suppose you could say that. Check out this Word Wizard word list.
